Applesauce!
We got a crate of apples on Friday from Malcolm's school to make applesauce for their Monday snack. There were 11 crates of apples picked from the trees at his school and so far the classes have made apple crisp and dried apples. Evelyn washed the apples, and Malcolm peeled, cored, and sliced every apple with the handy tool.

Meet Marygold
Malcolm sketched out the design for Marygold. The squashes are his favorite part of Halloween. He has quite a collection of pumpkins and squashes of various shapes, colors and sizes from our farm, a pumpkin patch trip Malcolm made with his school, a trip to another local pumpkin patch we all took, and a few he adopted from Grandma's collection. We've already cooked the Queensland Blue - an extremely sweet pumpkin with silvery-green skin. Mixed with whole milk and pumpkin pie spices, it is a pudding-like dessert even without sugar.
